The Arowana PCI Express SSD board is the smallest carrier board on the market. This PCI Express Carrier board was designed to expand modern motherboards or embedded systems that have a PCI Express interface. Small 1U form factor offers several advantages, particularly for enterprise, data center, and industrial applications. It make possible to have PCI express SSD storage in the 1U rack mount servers or small embedded appliances. PCI Express SSDs deliver significantly faster speeds compared to SATA-based SSDs. It has low latency and as the results in improved read/write speeds, enhancing application performance, especially in high-demand workloads like AI, databases, and virtualization.

It is retained inside a computer chassis by using the unique PCI Express add-in board Retainer (US Patent #7,850,475). The Retainer securely holds the PCIe SSD board in the PCI express slot.

PCI Express SSD Board supports x1 PCI Express Gen 3 upstream connection to a motherboard. The standard version of the SSD board has 1TB storage capacity (with optionally capacity of 512 MB, 256 MB or 128 MB).

The operating temperature range for the SSD board is from – 40 C° to 95 C°. The robust design, 1U form factor and industrial operating temperature make this type of SSD board unique for industrial and automotive markets.
