The M.2 PCI Express Gen 3 SSD with Batteryless System Logger and Watchdog Timer, part of the PacketShark Family™, enhances computer systems by adding non-volatile fast storage, system data logging, and Watchdog functionality for system resets or power cycling. This innovative product integrates three independent components:

  1. PCIe Gen 3 SSD: Adds fast, non-volatile memory.
  2. Batteryless System Logger: Captures and stores system and environmental data.
  3. Watchdog Timer: Ensures system stability by monitoring for crashes and triggering resets or power cycles.

Key Features:

  • Form Factor: Standard M.2 22110 with an M-key configuration, allowing seamless installation on motherboards or embedded appliances with compatible M.2 PCIe slots.
  • Modifications: Available in two configurations:
    • SSD with x2 PCIe Gen 3 interface (default capacity of 64 GB).
    • SSD with x4 PCIe Gen 3 interface (default capacity of 128 GB).
    • With or without Watchdog Timer functionality.

Batteryless System Logger:
This unique logger records system and environmental data from the operating system and internal sensors, storing it in logger’s non-volatile memory even in the event of a system crash or power outage. It features multiple built-in sensors that monitor ambient temperature, air pressure, humidity, shock, and vibration. Connected to the system via USB interface. The logger operates without any internal battery or external power source and requires no maintenance for over 10 years.


Watchdog Timer:
The WatchDog Timer automatically reboots the computer, embedded appliance, or IoT device in the event of a hovering or system crash. It sends a RESET signal or toggles the system’s power supply if the system fails to respond after the reset. A standard 2×3/2.5mm 10-pin connector allows direct connection to the system’s RESET and POWER control circuit, or via the WatchDog Power Adapter (SKU-091-40). The timer interval, RESET signal, and power toggling duration are configurable through a software utility compatible with Linux OS.
